Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Which Track should I take?

We believe taking track 1 is absolutely essential to building the proper biblical counseilng foundation.  Therefore, we encourage all persons to attend track 1 before attending any of the other tracks.  Tracks 2-4 are designed to be taken sequentially.  Having said that, we understand that some folks find the topics in another track (2, 3, or 4) to be more relevant to the counseling in their particular setting and may choose to take the tracks out of sequence.   All track 5 (NANC certification) attenders must complete track 1 first since NANC requires it.  We believe, however, that this track will be a tremendous blessing to those struggling to complete the exams.  Our final track (track 6) is a case study track designed to give guests the opportunity to interact with expereinced counselors on specific counseling examples.

2.  Can I switch tracks?

Technically the answer is yes (for an additional fee of $25).  However, our tracks normally sell out and once a track is sold out we do not allow any more transfers into that track.  It is very important you view the conference schedule webpage before you register to ensure you register for the correct track.

3.  Do all the speakers speak in every track?

No.  Our speakers come from those on our counseling staff as well as other leaders in the Nouthetic Counseling movement.  Please see the track schedules webpage to see which speakers are planned to speak in each track.

4.  What do we need to bring?

You will be given a conference notebook for the week.  All you will need is a writing utensil, a Bible, and most importantly, an open heart.

5.  What about travel and lodging?

Many hotels offer discounts to our guests, please see the webpage on travel and local information for more details.  Since many folks in our church family open up their homes we allow you to request to spend the week with a family (you will see an option to request housing when you register).

It is possible to fly into either the Indianapolis airport (about 60 miles away) or the Chicago airport (about 120 miles away).

6.  What about the weather?

Mid-February is an interesting time in Indiana.  During the 2006 conference it was sunny with highs in the upper 30s and low 40s all week while the 07 conference weather... well lets just say those that were here have some awesome stories to share!  We encourage you to dress warm and plan for highs in the upper 20s and low 30s.
